Campaign types
Deeto offers five campaign types. When you create a campaign, you pick one — and it determines the goal, audience, and what Deeto tracks.| Campaign type | What it’s for | Key metric |
|---|---|---|
| New Advocates | Recruit new customers as references | New customers added |
| Existing Advocates | Collect content from current references | New assets created |
| Broadcast Information | Send a message to all your references | Audience size reached |
| AI Interview | Run AI-powered interviews with references | New customers added / interview completions |
| Potential Customers | Generate content from prospects | New assets created |
New Advocates
Sends an automated email sequence to people who aren’t yet in Deeto, inviting them to join as customer references. When someone signs up, they become a new contact in your account. Use this when: You want to grow your pool of customer advocates and have a list of customers to invite. How it works:- Define your audience — upload contacts or add them manually
- Configure your email sequence — one or more emails, spaced by days
- Deeto sends automatically and registers anyone who signs up as a new advocate
Existing Advocates
Asks your current references to create content — testimonials, case studies, reviews — through an automated email sequence that links them to Deeto’s contribution experience. Use this when: You have existing references and want to collect fresh content from them. How it works:- Select your audience from existing references — manually or by segment
- Set up the email sequence with a link to the contribution experience
- References click the link, complete the contribution wizard, and submit content
Broadcast Information
Sends a single message or announcement to your references at once. Unlike other campaign types, there’s no follow-up sequence — it’s a one-time broadcast. Use this when: You want to share news, a product update, or an invitation with your entire reference base. How it works:- Compose your broadcast message
- Deeto sends it to all your references simultaneously
- No multi-step follow-up — one message, done
AI Interview
Uses Deeto’s AI agent to conduct structured interviews with your references. The AI handles the entire conversation — asking questions, following up based on responses, and capturing answers — without you needing to be present. Use this when: You want to collect detailed, interview-style feedback from references at scale. Topic scopes available:- Win / Loss analysis
- New product feedback
- First 30 days experience
- Pre-renewal check-in
- NPS follow-up
- Retention analysis
- Product-specific feedback
Potential Customers
Generates content assets from people who are prospects — not yet customers. Designed for outreach to potential customers to capture their perspectives. Use this when: You want to generate content from a prospect audience rather than existing references.Campaign statuses
Every campaign moves through the same statuses, regardless of type:| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Draft | Created but not yet launched |
| Scheduled | Set to launch at a future date and time |
| Active | Running — emails are going out |
| Stopped | Paused manually |
| Ended | Reached its completion condition automatically |
| Archived | Closed out and no longer shown by default |
Dynamic audiences (API-triggered)
Deeto connects directly to your systems to identify potential new references and trigger content requests from existing ones automatically. A simple API call from your CRM, marketing platform, support system, or product sends a contact into a campaign audience — and Deeto handles everything from there. How the API works
When you call the Deeto API, you send:- Contact information — Name and email address. Deeto automatically checks for duplicates.
- For reference recruitment: invites them as a new reference (skips contacts who are already onboarded)
- For content collection: verifies they’re an existing reference and initiates a content request
- Campaign ID — Identifies which campaign to enroll the contact into, as configured in the Deeto app
Recommended triggers
Set your triggers based on what you’re trying to achieve:- Positive feedback / marketing collateral — Trigger based on recent, positive NPS scores
- New customer feedback — Trigger based on time (e.g., 90 days post-signing)
- Long-term feedback — Trigger based on renewal events
Setting up a trigger in your CRM
The API call can be initiated from Salesforce, HubSpot, or any other system that manages your customer data. For step-by-step guidance, see the Salesforce Campaign Enrollment guide or refer to your CRM’s workflow documentation.Things to keep in mind
- Filter the campaign list by type using the Campaign type filter at the top of the Campaigns page
- Filter by status to see only active, draft, or ended campaigns
- Once a campaign is active, recipients who unsubscribe are automatically removed
- Campaigns that reach their completion condition (e.g., a target number of responses) end automatically
- Once set, the campaign type cannot be changed

What's the difference between New Advocates and AI Interview?
What's the difference between New Advocates and AI Interview?
Both recruit new customers, but New Advocates uses a standard email sequence that you write, while AI Interview uses Deeto’s AI agent to conduct a structured conversation. AI Interview is better for collecting rich, detailed stories. New Advocates works better for straightforward invitations.
