The website widget is available to customers with it included in their contract. If the option is locked in your workspace, contact your Deeto Customer Success Manager.
The Deeto website testimonial displays customer-generated content — quotes, reviews, user stories, and video testimonials — directly on your website. It’s managed entirely from your Deeto workspace. No re-embedding is required when you update content.

Legacy widget vs. new website testimonial

Your workspace may show widgets tagged “Legacy widget”. Here’s what that means:
Legacy widgets cannot display anonymized references. If you need anonymization, recreate the widget as a new website testimonial using the “Create new website testimonial” button shown in the legacy widget detail view.

Before you start

You’ll need:
  • Access to your website’s backend or a website builder (Webflow, WordPress, Squarespace, etc.)
  • Deeto workspace with admin access
  • Customer content already collected in your Deeto workspace (quotes, reviews, user stories, or videos)

Step 1: Navigate to the website widget

  1. Go to Workflows → Distribution
  2. Select the Website widget tab
  3. You’ll see all existing website testimonials listed as cards showing name, Active/Inactive status, created date, and profiles involved

Step 2: Create a new website testimonial

  1. Click Create (or Create new website testimonial)
  2. Fill in the required fields:
  1. Click Save
Use a descriptive internal name so you can identify the widget later (e.g. “Pricing Page — ROI Quotes” or “Homepage — Enterprise Testimonials”).

In the Carousel configuration section, choose how many cards to show per row:
  • Show a maximum of 4 cards per row (default)
  • Show a maximum of 3 cards per row

Step 4: Add assets

In the Displayed Assets section:
  1. Click Add asset
  2. Select customer content to display — available types include Quote, Review, User Story, and Video (depending on what’s in your workspace)
  3. Repeat to add as many assets as needed
  4. Remove any asset by clicking the ✕ on its card
The asset types shown under “Available assets” reflect what content types exist in your workspace. If you don’t see Video, you may not have video testimonials collected yet.

Step 5: Publish your widget

Changes to a website testimonial are staged before going live. You’ll see a banner reading “Content changes were made since widget was last published” when unpublished changes exist.
  1. Click Publish to make your widget live
  2. The published version is what appears on your website
The Revert to last published button (available on legacy widgets) restores the last published version and discards staged changes.

Step 6: Get your embed code

  1. From the website testimonial detail page, click the (more options) menu
  2. Select Get embed code
  3. Copy the JavaScript snippet
The embed code is a JavaScript snippet — not an iframe. It loads your testimonial dynamically from widget.deeto.ai.

Step 7: Install on your website

  1. Open your website builder
  2. Navigate to the page where you want the widget
  3. Add an Embed or Custom Code block
  4. Paste the Deeto embed code
  5. Save and publish

Step 8: Verify the installation

  1. Visit the page on your website
  2. Clear your browser cache if the widget doesn’t appear immediately
  3. Confirm the widget displays correctly on both mobile and desktop
  4. Check that the correct assets are showing

Updating your widget

To change which assets are displayed:
  1. Go to Workflows → Distribution → Website widget
  2. Click your widget
  3. Add or remove assets in the Displayed Assets section
  4. Click Publish to push changes live
No re-embedding is needed — updates go live automatically once published.

Troubleshooting

Clear your browser cache and hard-refresh the page. Confirm the embed code was pasted correctly and that the page has been published/deployed after adding the code. Check that the widget status is Active in Deeto.
Make sure you’ve added assets in the Displayed Assets section and clicked Publish. If you only saved but didn’t publish, the widget will appear empty.
Legacy widgets use an older design and don’t support anonymized references. They continue to work but we recommend recreating them as new website testimonials for full feature support. Use the “Create new website testimonial” button shown in the legacy widget detail view.
Recreate the widget as a new website testimonial. Open the legacy widget, click “Create new website testimonial”, and add the same assets. Then replace your embed code with the new widget’s code.
The website widget is a contract-based feature. Contact your Deeto Customer Success Manager to discuss adding it to your plan.
