What this integration does. Once connected, Deeto automatically brings in your recorded Gong conversations and turns each one into a searchable transcript. Deeto also reviews who took part in each call to help surface potential customer references — people who spoke positively about you and could become advocates. You choose exactly which calls are imported. The connection is read-only: Deeto only reads from Gong and never changes, adds, or deletes anything in your Gong account.

Before you start

  • You need to be an administrator in Deeto.
  • You need permission to approve app connections in your Gong account (usually a Gong admin), and a Gong plan that allows API access.
  • The connection is made once per company — you don’t set it up per user.

How to connect Gong

1

Open Integrations

In Deeto, open SettingsIntegrations.
2

Connect Gong

Find the Gong card and click Connect. A Gong sign-in page opens in a new tab.
3

Sign in and approve

Sign in to Gong and approve the requested access. Gong sends you back to Deeto automatically.
4

Confirm the connection

You’ll see the confirmation “Your connection with Gong was successful!” The Gong card now shows a green Connected status.
5

Choose what to import

Click Manage on the Gong card to choose what to import (next section).
The status on the card shows the connection state at a glance: Connected, Pending, Disconnected, Expired. If it ever shows Expired, just click Connect again to reconnect.

Choosing which calls to import

After connecting, the Import settings screen lets you control exactly which conversations Deeto brings in. You set rules per Gong workspace, and only the workspaces you add are imported. Filters combine: within a workspace, a call is imported only if it matches all the filters you’ve set there. Any filter you leave empty is simply ignored. Trackers, call types, and outcomes come straight from your own Gong setup.
1

Add a workspace rule

On the Import settings screen, click Add workspace import rule and pick a Gong workspace.
2

Set the starting point and filters

Set the Starting point and any optional filters (keywords, call title, trackers, call type, outcomes).
3

Repeat for other workspaces

Repeat for any other workspaces you want to include.
4

Save

Click Import (first time) or Update (later changes).
Start with the last 90 days rather than your full call history. You can always extend the date range later.
Changing settings later. When you update your import rules, Deeto restarts the import from the date you selected and stops any import already in progress. Content that was already imported is not affected.

Where to find synced transcripts

Synced transcripts are available in two places: Knowledge Hub — your central repository for all customer intelligence — and Assets → Captured, where all Gong call transcripts land, ready to browse, search, and activate.

How importing runs

There are two phases, and both happen automatically — you don’t need to trigger imports by hand.
  • First import (backfill). As soon as you save your settings, Deeto imports all matching past calls, going back to the earliest Starting point you chose across your workspaces.
  • Ongoing sync. After that, Deeto checks Gong automatically each day and brings in newly recorded calls that match your rules.
  • No duplicates. During the first import, a call that’s already in Deeto is skipped, so nothing is imported twice.

What Deeto brings in & how it’s used

For each call that matches your rules, Deeto reads the call details (title, date, length, workspace, a link back to the call in Gong, and Gong’s own short summary), the transcript, the participants (name, job title, email, phone, company), and the trackers and outcomes attached to the call. This information powers two things:

1. A searchable conversation library

  • Each imported call becomes a transcript inside Deeto that your team can search — to quickly find what was said, by whom, and when. Each line keeps its speaker and timing.
  • Speakers are automatically matched to your existing Deeto contacts by email where possible; if there’s no match, the person still appears by name.
  • Imported transcripts are internal-only — they’re available to your team inside Deeto and are not published or shared externally on their own.

2. Finding potential references

  • Deeto looks at the customer-side participants on each call — people who weren’t the call’s host, who have an email, and who aren’t already known to Deeto (existing team members, references, or prospects are skipped).
  • For each of those people, Deeto reviews what they said on the call and assesses how strong an advocate they might be — looking at things like advocacy, results they described, engagement, and overall sentiment.
  • People who come across as genuine, positive customers are added as potential references — they appear in Deeto as contacts tagged Potential Reference, linked back to the source call, so your team can review them.

The Potential References campaign

When you connect Gong, Deeto automatically sets up a ready-made campaign called Potential References under Workflows → Campaigns. Every potential reference Deeto finds is added to it for you.
  • It starts switched off. The campaign is created as a draft, so nothing is sent until someone on your team reviews and launches it. You’re always in control of the first send.
  • What it sends. Once launched, the campaign emails each potential reference an AI-powered interview invitation, inviting them to share their experience. Emails go out under your team’s name (or from Deeto, depending on your settings).
  • Then it runs on its own. After you launch it once, new potential references found on future calls are added and invited automatically — no need to approve each person.
  • Your team stays informed. Deeto notifies your team as references are found — nudging you to “activate your campaign” while it’s still off, and confirming how many were invited once it’s live.
In short: Deeto finds and queues potential references for you, but the first invitation is only sent after your team launches the campaign. Nothing reaches a customer without that one-time go-ahead.

Turning the integration off

You can switch the Gong integration off at any time from its card in SettingsIntegrations.
  • Turning it off stops the daily sync — no new calls are imported.
  • Everything already imported stays — your transcripts, potential references, and contacts remain in Deeto.
  • You can turn it back on later without repeating the full setup.

Privacy & security

  • Read-only. Deeto never writes to, edits, or deletes anything in your Gong account.
  • You choose what comes in. Only calls that match the rules you set are ever brought into Deeto.
  • Your team stays in control. Imported transcripts are internal-only and full details are visible only to your team inside Deeto.
  • Anonymized before sharing. Anything drawn from Gong that could be shown publicly is anonymized first — full details are never exposed externally.
  • Off whenever you want. Turn the integration off to stop imports at any time.

Tips

  • Check Assets → Captured weekly. Review and activate high-value transcripts before they accumulate.
  • Turn on Potential References when ready. Once your team is prepared to act on sentiment data, activate the campaign to start recruiting references automatically.
