# Campaigns Setup

> How to set up and run Deeto Campaigns to invite new references and collect content from existing ones — including campaign types, dynamic audiences, and API-triggered enrollment.

Deeto Campaigns let you invite new customers as references and request content from existing ones — automatically, at scale, and with full tracking in one place. This guide covers how to create and configure campaigns, choose the right campaign type, and connect dynamic audiences from your CRM or other systems.

## Campaign types

From **Workflows → Campaigns**, click **Create campaign** and select a campaign type. Deeto offers eight types across three formats.

### Questionnaire

Questionnaire campaigns send an automated email sequence and collect content through Deeto's contribution experience.

| Campaign type          | What it does                                                   |
| ---------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **New advocates**      | Invite and onboard selected customers to share their knowledge |
| **Existing advocates** | Re-engage existing advocates to share new stories and insights |

**Details step — New advocates:** Campaign Name, Description, question set for collecting assets (required), reward management per content type (Quote, Q\&A, User Story, Video, Optional activities).

**Details step — Existing advocates:** Campaign Name, Description, question set for collecting assets (required).

**Steps:** Details → Settings → Audience → Messages

### Email

Email campaigns send a one-time or task-based message to your reference base.

| **Broadcast information** | Share information with your existing customer base                       |
| **Assignments Only**      | Send advocates tasks to complete and reward them automatically when done |

**Details step — Broadcast information:** Campaign Name, Description.

**Details step — Assignments Only:** Campaign Name, Description, Assignment (required — select from existing or create new).

**Steps — Broadcast information:** Details → Settings → Audience

**Steps — Assignments Only:** Details → Settings → Audience → Messages

### AI interview

AI interview campaigns use Deeto's AI agent to conduct structured conversations with your references. The AI asks questions, follows up based on responses, and captures answers automatically.

| **Closed-lost insights** *(New)*           | Learn why deals are lost to identify gaps in your sales process and positioning |
| **Custom AI interview** *(New)*            | Define your own interview goals and let Deeto's AI guide the conversation       |

**Details step — all AI interview types:** Campaign Name, Description, campaign brief (required — select from existing briefs).

**Steps:** Details → Styling → Settings → Audience

## Campaign statuses

Every campaign moves through the same statuses, regardless of type:

| Status    | What it means                                  |
| --------- | ---------------------------------------------- |
| Draft     | Created but not yet launched                   |
| Scheduled | Set to launch at a future date and time        |
| Active    | Running — emails are going out                 |
| Stopped   | Paused manually                                |
| Ended     | Reached its completion condition automatically |
| Archived  | Closed out and no longer shown by default      |

## Dynamic audiences (API-triggered)

Deeto connects directly to your systems to identify potential new references and trigger content requests from existing ones automatically. A simple API call from your CRM, marketing platform, support system, or product sends a contact into a campaign audience — and Deeto handles everything from there.

### How the API works

When you call the Deeto API, you send:

* **Contact information** — Name and email address. Deeto automatically checks for duplicates.
  * For reference recruitment: invites them as a new reference (skips contacts who are already onboarded)
  * For content collection: verifies they're an existing reference and initiates a content request
* **Campaign ID** — Identifies which campaign to enroll the contact into, as configured in the Deeto app

To find your API details: Navigate to **Workflows → Campaigns** → select your campaign → click the three-dot menu → **View Dynamic Audience API**.

### Recommended triggers

Set your triggers based on what you're trying to achieve:

* **Positive feedback / marketing collateral** — Trigger based on recent, positive NPS scores
* **New customer feedback** — Trigger based on time (e.g., 90 days post-signing)
* **Long-term feedback** — Trigger based on renewal events

### Setting up a trigger in your CRM

## Things to keep in mind

* Filter the campaign list by type using the **Campaign type** filter at the top of the Campaigns page
* Filter by status to see only active, draft, or ended campaigns
* Once a campaign is active, recipients who unsubscribe are automatically removed
* Campaigns that reach their completion condition (e.g., a target number of responses) end automatically
* Once set, the campaign type cannot be changed

    New advocates is for inviting customers who aren't yet in Deeto. Existing advocates is for re-engaging references you already have to collect new content.
